The hotel had a great location, being close to all the popular tourist spots. What really stood out to me was the hotel's historic charm, giving me a glimpse into what it was like to stay in one of the best hotels in Almaty 35 years ago. The old Soviet architecture and luxurious lobby, decorated with heavy carpeting and red wood doors, added a unique touch to my stay. The rooms were equipped with traditional cabinets, transporting me back in time. The full breakfast offered a variety of delicious options, including hot entries, crepes, eggs, porridge, and traditional Kazakh tea. The spacious restaurant had plenty of comfortable seating, and the attentive wait staff ensured that used dishes were promptly cleared away. I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Hotel was a bit dark at night, not many lights on around the hallways.

It's central to so many interesting and cultural sights. The breakfast room is incredible, with Kazakh-style rugs and paintings on the ceiling. The staff is helpful and arranged a smooth taxi to the airport. The building has lots of character, and the rooms, though basic, are comfortable.

Felt free to seek any assistance, no complaints.

The quality of food served for the breakfast was average. No coffee machine and bread was not very fresh.

I was pleasantly surprised by the convenient location of the hotel and the comfortable room, despite its Soviet-style furniture. The breakfast, though simple, was satisfactory. The reception staff were polite and helpful, despite the language barrier. The view from the balcony was enjoyable, and overall, the hotel offered good value for money.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of luxury and comfort. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide range of delicious options including meats, cheese, bread, fresh vegetables, salads. The dining room was beautiful with Kazakh-style rugs and paintings on the ceiling. The staff was extremely helpful and arranged a smooth taxi transfer to the airport upon check-out. The location of this hotel was also excellent, as it was close to central attractions and restaurants. The Soviet architecture added a unique charm to the overall experience.

Despite the excellent services and facilities provided, the staff seemed more focused on paperwork and getting money from customers rather than offering a warm and friendly demeanor. However, this did not hinder my overall experience at this hotel.
